Participants will learn foundational crochet skills; holding a hook, creating a slip knot, chaining, and a few of the introductory basic stitches. Participants will apply these skills in the creation of a scarf, hat of shawl. Students try different hairstyles, outfits, and themes as they sketch out their own chibi personalities. The style is simple, bold, and playful—perfect for building confidence in young illustrators. A personal electric tuner will be helpful. Let’s learn cool rhythms, strumming patterns, and a variety of different songs together! We will work out how to hold, play, tune, and practice the Ukulele. Fantastic and Unique Creatures – WK 2 1:30PM June 22 – June 26 | 1:30PM – 4:30PM Cain Center for the Arts | Classroom 115 Age: 7-12 Price: $200 Instructor: Maria Roca Camp Description: In this camp participants will learn to use the color wheel and will work on shapes and textures to create colorful characters. Fiber Arts Workshop (7-10) WK 2 PM

Fiber Arts Workshop – WK 2 1:30PM June 22 – June 26 | 1:30PM – 4:30PM 21212 Catawba Avenue | Flex Studio Age: 7-10 Price: $200 Instructor: Lauren Gibson Camp Description: Campers will weave on a tabby loom, finger knit, crochet, embroider small tapestries, dish towels, bracelets, key chains, pillows, hats, and scarves. Campers need to be confident in tying both box and slip knots. We will work on their dexterity throughout the week, ending with multiple projects to take home.   ***Cornelius Residents will use RESCODE for Cornelius Resident price in the shopping cart.***

Bridge Lunch WK 2

Parents must register their child for the Bridge Lunch during the camp registration process. The child must be registered for a morning, and afternoon camp on the same day, in the same week.   Cain Center for the Arts will not provide lunch for Bridge Lunch campers. Campers are required to bring their own lunch. Lunch will not be provided.   No drop-ins will be allowed. Parents will be charged a fee of $15 on top of the $60 fee registration fee. Parents who fail to register their students may result in their student being removed from the camp with no refund.   Discounts are not available for Bridge Lunch.
