Visual Arts Painters StudioMarch 2nd- April 6th Price: $195.00 Thursday, 10am- 2pm. (4 Week) Instructor: Janet Visser This is an intermediate and advanced course that encourages experimental approaches to painting through historical and contemporary study. Students creatively explore issues of color, surface and composition and are encouraged to begin exploration of individualized concerns that can be addressed through image making. Thematic studies provide opportunity for intensive investigation of ideas. Prerequisites: Beginning Painting in Oils, Acrylic, or Watercolors. Youth: School of Color
YOUTH- School of ColorMarch 2nd- April 6th Price: $80.00 Ages: 7-12 Thursday, 6:30pm-8pm Instructor: Maria Roca School of Color is an introductory, project-based painting class designed for participants with little or no previous experience. The emphasis of this class is the development of artistic expression through colors and textures. Each week, participants work on a project that builds a foundation in basic skills and reflects the child’s personality while developing a sense of accomplishment. Some of the themes will include abstract painting, artists around the world, exploration of elements in nature, and whimsical animals. These projects are carefully thought through to nurture children’s natural spontaneity in their approach to art. YOUTH- Create with Clay: Ceramic Studio March 2nd – April 6th Price: $155.00 Ages: 10-16 Thursday, 6:30pm-8:30pm Instructor: Taisia Mills This ceramics class provides the opportunity to explore the joy and the challenges of working with clay. YOUTH- Drawing 3-D – Studio B Feb. 28th- April 4th Price: $95.00 Ages : 11-14 Tuesday, 4:30pm-6pm Instructor: Chris Boudon Students will draw and color in imaginary 3-D landscapes, using geometric forms such as cones, pyramids, cubes, and rectangles. Intermediate participants will be introduced to the practices of fundamentals. Students are encouraged to work on areas of challenge in this class.
