Mixed Media Painting & Collage 2Cain Center for the Arts – Room 115 Feb. 26 – Apr. 1, 2024Price: $165.00    Mondays, 6 PM – 8 PM   Instructor: Kathy Murray  In this class we will create small as well as a larger mixed media piece using collage and  acrylic paint. Many master painters like Matisse, Bearden and Picasso used collage so why not try it? We will first create collage papers with acrylic paint on various papers, then create mixed media pieces by combining paint with the collage papers. In each class will be a short lesson/demo and then the teacher will assist students with their projects. School of ColorCornelius Arts Center: Studio BJan. 11 – Feb. 15, 2024Price: $125.00   Ages: 7-12 Thursdays, 6 PM – 8 PM   Instructor: Maria Roca This is a beginners class where participants will learn to approach creativity and artistic expression through the personal interpretation of color and texture. Participants will work on a variety of projects receiving specific direction on how to use the brushes and acrylic paint to create interesting results. Participants will be exposed to some of the greatest painters of all times as reference and inspiration. Topics might vary from nature, to portraits, to cartoon characters. We will focus on techniques for shaping pots with an eye for form and proportion. We will look at techniques for making lids and handles, with a goal to improve these complementary skills in making beautiful pots.Pre-Requisites: Must be able to comfortably center and throw 5 lbs of clay  ***Cornelius Residents will use RESCODE for Cornelius resident price.***
