Photographic Image Transfer on Clay: From Image to Ceramic Surface Age: 16+ Day: Wednesday Dates: Oct 28 – Dec 9 Time: 1:30PM – 3:30PM Location: Puckett Pottery House Room: Hand Building Instructor: Maria Lukashenok   Description: This multi-week course explores photographic image transfer techniques on clay, combining ceramics, photography, and printmaking. Students will learn how to prepare digital images, mix ink, transfer photographic imagery onto clay surfaces, and incorporate image-based storytelling into ceramic work.Through demonstrations and hands-on projects, participants will explore various transfer methods, surface treatments, glazing considerations, and firing processes. The course encourages students to develop personal narratives through imagery while gaining technical skills for creating unique ceramic surfaces.By the end of the course, students will complete a series of image-based ceramic pieces and gain the knowledge needed to continue incorporating photographic processes into their own artistic practice.Students will learn:• Image preparation and editing for transfer• Photographic transfer techniques on clay• Surface design and composition• Ink mixing• Glazing and firing considerations• Troubleshooting common transfer issues• Developing personal concepts through ceramic imageryRecommended experience: Beginner clay experience preferred.   Use code RESCODE for Cornelius Residents only.
