Mixed Media: Texture Focused | 2-D Acrylic Painting.Cain Center : Rm 115. June 10 – July 15, 2024 (no class the week of July 4)Price: $165.00 Mondays, 6pm – 8pm In this class we will create textured mixed media pieces using any or all of the following that you choose: acrylic paint, collage, pencils, oil pastels, oil paint, paper, or even fabric. Many different mark making tools can be used like brushes, palet knives, stamps, stencils etc. You can work on canvas, heavy paper or cradled wood panel, Many master painters like Matisse, Bearden and Picasso used collage with paint so why not try it? We will first create collage papers with acrylic paint on various papers, then create mixed media pieces by combining paint with the collage papers. In each class will be a short lesson/demo and then the teacher will assist students with their projects. Basic art principles like composition, value, color, etc will be reviewed as needed as to to how they relate to students’ pieces. The teacher will assist each student with their choice of media, and everyone will have their own 6×3’ table and large easel. It will be so fun! Beginners or advanced students are welcome!
