This will be a project-based class with ideas and examples that will challenge and build your skills. We will focus on pinch, coil, and slab and begin applying ways of combining these to make more both functional and sculptural pieces. We will explore not only hand building techniques but a variety of glaze and other surface design treatments. With slips, stains, metal and glass we will explore new ideas and ways to use clay as a medium with other elements.This class welcomes experienced hand builders to participate as the basic fundamentals of working clay is required.
