Mixed Media Painting & CollageCain Center for the Arts – Room 115 Feb. 24 – Mar. 31, 2025Price: $180.00 Mondays, 3 PM – 5 PM Instructor: Kathy Murray In this class we will create mixed media pieces using several painting and mark making techniques while utilizing various materials, such as acrylic paint, painted collage papers, pencils, art crayons, stamps, etc. Students can choose the materials they prefer. Each class will include a short lesson and demo about relevant art techniques before assisting the students with their projects. Basic art principles like composition, value, and color will be reviewed as to how they can enhance students’ artwork. ***Cornelius Residents will use RESCODE for Cornelius resident price.***
Nature Printed Mixed Media Collage
Nature Printed Mixed Media CollageCain Center for the Arts – Room 115 Apr. 14 – May 19, 2025Price: $180.00 Mondays, 3 PM – 5 PM Instructor: Kathy Murray We will use acrylic paints and other media to create colorful exciting art! Gelli plates will be used in a simple way to create unique printed textural papers. We will also use other ways to create energetic colorful painted papers. The papers will then be cut and ripped and more paint and marks added to create energetic mixed media collages. Note: Gelli plate will not be used in every class.
