In this class students will work on the development of artistic abilities with total freedom of expression. Participants will observe the works of celebrated abstract painters and, with individual attention from the instructor, will develop their own ideas while learning techniques to create gestural marks and achieve interesting effects. Valentine’s Day WorkshopCornelius Art Center: Ceramic Studio Feb. 1, 2025 | 10AM – 1PM Price: $85.00 Valentine’s Day is a time to celebrate love, and what better way to express that love than through creating something beautiful with your own hands? This workshop offers the perfect opportunity to explore creativity, learn techniques in hand building with clay, and make lasting memories. We will focus on creating one of a kind, heart-shaped clay pieces, from bowls, simple vases or decorative trinkets. Participants will learn the art of molding and shaping clay to form heart-centered designs. The pieces will feature delicate designs, such as stamping, underglaze transfer papers or engraved messages, adding a personal touch to each piece. We will fire your pieces and do the final glazing for you. During that time you can expect to create and finish 1-2 pieces. No experience is required as we will take you step by step through the process. It is a great opportunity to spend time in our studio and an introduction to ceramic arts.
