With slips, stains, metal and glass we will explore new ideas and ways to use clay as a medium with other elements.This class welcomes experienced hand builders to participate as the basic fundamentals of working clay is required. Creative Layering
Creative Layering Cain Center for the Arts: Classroom 115Sept. 11th – Oct. 18th Price: $165.00 Wednesday, 6PM – 8:30PM Instructor: Miki Kato-Starr During our 6 weeks of class, we will explore watercolor and acrylic painting to make unique art using a variety of layering techniques. This class is designed both for those who have had little experience and those who already have experience working with watercolor/acrylic paints. Experimentation with a sense of creative playfulness will be encouraged. Class structure will offer step-by-step instructions and demos followed by studio time. We will use masking fluid, masking tape, stencils, and collage techniques to explore layering and negative space in expressive ways.
