Many master painters like Matisse, Bearden and Picasso used collage so why not try it? We will first create collage papers with acrylic paint on various papers, then create mixed media pieces by combining paint with the collage papers. In each class will be a short lesson/demo and then the teacher will assist students with their projects. Basic art principles like composition, value, color, etc will be reviewed as to how they relate to students’ pieces.Good to have experience, okay for beginners looking for a creative challenge. Participants will work on a variety of projects receiving specific direction on how to use the brushes and acrylic paint to create interesting results. Participants will be exposed to some of the greatest painters of all times as reference and inspiration. Topics might vary from nature, to portraits, to cartoon characters.
