Description: Take your wheel throwing skills to the next level in this intermediate pottery workshop series focused on transforming forms through modification and surface refinement. Designed for those comfortable centering and throwing basic shapes, this class explores how to elevate your work by altering and assembling pieces after they come off the wheel. You’ll learn techniques for pulling and attaching handles, crafting functional spouts, designing and fitting lids, and carving into leather-hard surfaces to add texture and visual depth. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on practice, you’ll develop a stronger sense of timing, structure, and design as well as an understanding of when and how to modify forms without compromising their integrity. The series encourages experimentation and personal style, helping you move beyond simple vessels into more complex, expressive pieces. Ideal for potters ready to expand their technical toolkit, this workshop offers a supportive space to refine craftsmanship and push creative boundaries.
