Visual arts for the community 2021-2022 exhibitions
Visiting an art gallery is a fantastic way to relax, have fun, learn about the world we live in, and find inspiration for your own artistic endeavors. Cain Center for the Arts is proud to announce the presentation of 4 wonderful exhibitions during the 2021-2022 season at the Cornelius Arts Center.
Explore this year’s inviting selection of shows and learn more about the artists and their work below.
Take note of the opening and closing dates and make plans to join us for the reception of each exhibit, where you will have the opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy an evening of artist talks with light refreshments provided.

MUD AT THE MILL

ABOUT THE SHOW: This juried show showcases both functional and sculptural works by local artists that incorporate clay. Stroll through the gallery and find something beautiful for your home, as show exhibits are also available for purchase. FIBERS & FRAMES
11/19 - 1/22
ABOUT THE SHOW: A charming multi-disciplinary exhibition featuring a husband and wife team. Terry and Sue Ruhs combine his love of painting with her passion for quilting for an unforgettable art experience. Residents of Waxhaw, NC, the couple are both members of multiple art guilds and have received critically acclaimed success at arts festivals throughout North Carolina. More information about Terry can be found at www.nearlyfineart.com. Fabrics & Frames will be presented at the Cornelius Arts Center gallery from November 19 - January 22, 2022.

ABOUT THE SHOW: This non-juried annual show will feature pieces from area artists in a variety of different mediums. A selection of the works will be available for purchase. The exhibit will be on display in the Cornelius Art Center gallery from February 4 - March 26, 2022.
CALL TO ARTISTS: Check back for submission information for Home Grown! Details will be posted here and on our social media channels by December 2021.
RECEPTION: The Home Grown opening reception will be held on Friday, February 4, 6:00-8:00pm.
IRVIN & FRIENDS
4/1 - 6/11
ABOUT THE SHOW: Originally designed in 2019 as a fundraiser for the Cain Center for the Arts, the expanded 2022 exhibition of Irvin & Friends will feature work from local and regional artists across a fascinating selection of mediums. Artwork will be displayed in the Cornelius Art Center gallery from April 8 - June 11, 2022.
