Description: Explore new decoration techniques in this 6-week course where you’ll learn how to add texture and color in your own style through slips and carvings. Students will learn how to mix a variety of slip textures and colors will the goal of expanding the decoration of their forms. The class will cover a variety of techniques including sgraffito, slip trailing, Mishima, and creating your own personal slip transfers. This class is suited for students with past experience who are looking to grow their decorative style. 

Class tuition includes:
  • One 25 lb bag of clay
  • Access to a variety of our studio glazes
  • No costs to fire your work
  • One complimentary open studio time per week that you are enrolled in a class, totaling in 6 open studio times. 
 
Complimentary open studio times do not roll over into a new session of classes. – See schedule for open studio hours.
Cain Center for the Arts reserves the right to cancel any class with insufficient enrollment. Students will be notified two weeks before the class if it is cancelled and they will receive a 100% refund.
