All Level Wheel Throwing and Hand building- Ceramic Studio April 18th- May 23rd Price: $175.00 Tuesday, 10am-12:30pm Instructor: Renee Calder In this class, we will focus on the basics of working in ceramics both learning how to throw in the wheel as well as hand building tips and techniques. This will be a project-based class with ideas and examples that will challenge and build your skills. Over the course of the session, you will gain experience using the wheel and also slab building to create both functional and sculptural pieces. Glaze Workshop
This workshop will provide 25 test tiles for each student. We will discuss using glazes and layering test glazes on different clay bodies. Each student will be encouraged to use a color palette of their choice. *Any cone 5-cone 6 glazes that the students would like to test from their own supply can be utilized. Ceramic Workshop: Layered Hand-Built Clay Vessel
Using coil and slab construction you will be able to complete a small vessel or bowl during this session. We will combine both speckle brownstone clay with a dark brown clay and colorant’s/oxides to create a one-of-a-kind piece. This project is great for the beginner as well as the advanced hand builder.
