Youth Series: Painting Like the Masters: Andy Warhol “Campbell Soup”

In this 3 ½ hour workshop, children will learn about the great pop art American artist Andy Warhol. Warhol’s work is characterized by its intense and vivid colors.  He was one of the leaders of the pop art movement that made use of images and symbols from popular products to describe the identity of American culture. Children will work with acrylic paint on canvas boards.  No prior experience is necessary since children will work at their appropriate level of abilities.



Workshop Structure:

  1. Introduction to Andy Warhol through a video presentation (15 minutes)
  2. Pencil sketch on canvas.(30 minutes)
  3. Painting.
  4. Drying and varnishing the final piece. (non toxic acrylic paint and varnish used)
