Cain Center for the Arts: Classroom 115
Sept. 11th – Oct. 18th
Wednesday, 6PM – 8:30PM
Instructor: Miki Kato-Starr
During our 6 weeks of class, we will explore watercolor and acrylic painting to make unique art using a variety of layering techniques. This class is designed both for those who have had little experience and those who already have experience working with watercolor/acrylic paints. Experimentation with a sense of creative playfulness will be encouraged. Class structure will offer step-by-step instructions and demos followed by studio time. We will use masking fluid, masking tape, stencils, and collage techniques to explore layering and negative space in expressive ways. This class will end with a critique allowing participants to share their creations and discuss our discoveries!
